Moonful is private because of where it runs, not because of a promise: it runs on your phone.

On your phone

Your log, weight, notes, settings and meal photos live in the browser storage of the phone or computer you use. There is no account. If you clear the browser data or lose the phone without a backup, the log is gone, which is why Settings offers an export file and a second device.

A second device, if you choose

Linking a second device sends your log through our server as ciphertext. The link code you type on both devices makes the keys; the server never sees it and cannot read what it stores. Stop the link in Settings and the synced copy is deleted.

Smart Coach, only if you switch it on

Coach answers from fixed rules on your phone. If you turn Smart Coach on in Settings, your question goes to our AI provider to write a reply, together with the meal it is about, your wake and sleep hours, and, only when you choose Read this photo, that one meal photo. In Talk to Coach, a short summary goes with it so Coach can answer from your nights: the last 14 nights (lights lit, walk minutes, sleep hours, energy, the hardest part you picked, whether the night box was eaten, sweets and sugary drink counts), your weight change if you log weight, the health flags you ticked at set-up (insulin or sugar tablets, a heart condition, a difficult relationship with food), any doctor hold, recent plan changes, facts you asked Coach to remember, and the last few messages. Never your name or your notes. The provider does not train on them. Nothing is kept on our server, and the safety check runs on your phone first.

Push reminders, only if you switch them on

To wake a locked phone the server keeps a push address for your phone, a list of reminder ids and the minutes they fall due. No names, no food, no weights, no health details. Turn them off in Settings and the record is removed.

The email list

If you leave your email on the public page, it is stored to send you the occasional update. Ask us to delete it at any time.

Never

No analytics on your health data. No advertising. No selling or sharing of anything about you.

Export and delete

Settings has an export of everything as one file, an import, and a delete that wipes this device and, if linked, the synced copy.
